A play test for Arc Raiders, the upcoming game from Embark Studios, the company behind the popular online shooter The Finals, is scheduled for later in 2025.
The second Arc Raiders play test will be held by Embark starting this Wednesday, April 30. The game’s initial play test, which was limited to PC users, took place in October of last year. This time, it will continue from Wednesday through next Sunday, May 4, and players on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as well as PCs can participate.
Ahead of the Arc Raiders play test starting on Wednesday, Embark unveiled a new trailer today that features some additional gameplay, including scenes of players facing battle against enormous robots. Instead of being another first-person shooter, Arc Raiders is a PvPvE extraction shooter. It was originally intended to be Embark Studios’ first game back in 2021, but it was postponed multiple times, partly because its original plan had changed, and it wasn’t always intended to be a PvPvE third-person extraction shooter.
Despite what many would describe as indications of a problematic development for the game, there is no reason to believe it couldn’t do the identical thing with Arc Raiders. If you’re interested in playing Arc Raiders, you may still register on the game’s primary website and possibly be chosen for Wednesday’s play test.
